TOURISTIC ATRACTIONS

LA ERMITACHURCH
It is an icon of the city of Cali. It’s located across the street of Paseo Bolivar and Cali river. It was built in
1939 with an european gothic style. Inside this church is the statue of Señor de la Caña (Lord of Sugarcane) made in 1787. The clock on its tower was brought from Amsterdam, and bells were made by Armend Blanchet.

 

COLINA DE SAN ANTONIO (San Antonio’s Hill)
On the top of this hill you will find the beautiful San Antonio’s chapel, built in 1747 and you can enjoy a marvelous panoramic view of the city.

SEBASTIAN DE BELALCAZAR’S STATUE
Located on the high area of Arboleda district, on the west side of the city, there is the Sebastián
de Belalcázar’s statue. It was made of bronze by spanish sculptor Victorio Macho to celebrate the 400th aniversary of the city in 1936, representing Cali’s founder, and becoming one of the symbols of the city.

CERRO DE LAS TRES CRUCES (Hill of the three crosses)
This hill is visible from anywhere in the city of Cali and its surroundings, with its three giganti crosses protecting the city. It is a frequently visited place during th whole year, specially during easter week.

CHAPEL AND CONVENT OF "LA MERCED" – Carrera 3 No. 6-62
In this church, Fray Santos de Añasco celebrated the first mass during the foundation of Cali, the 25th of July of 1536. In this church you can find the statue of Virgen de las Mercedes, carved in wood and covered with clothings fron the XV century. Convent hosts the "Agustinas Recoletas" religious community.

CRISTO REY
This 42 meters (138 feet) high statue, representing Jesus Christ protecting the city, is located at the top of the Cerro de los Cristales on the south-west side of the city.

"LA TERTULIA" MODERN ART MUSEUM
Founded in 1956. It has paintings ans sculpture exhibition rooms, cinemateque, souvenirs store, restaurant and outdoors theatre.

ZOOLOGICO DE CALI (City Zoo)
Located on the west end of the city, it hosts more than 800 animales from 170 species from which 80% are colombian. This zoo is the only one in Colombia with an aquarium where more than 60 sea and river species are exhibited.

Chipichape Plaza Shopiping
It is located at the north side of the city, in a residencial section. It counts with an open architectural design, with broad corridors, where you can enjoy the warm cali afternoons. Located at the south side of Cali, on Carrera 50 and Calle 5A intersection. Here you can find all kind of products and services, restaurants and La 14 supermarket, one of the most renown department stores in the city.

This mall is located at the south end of the city. Ideal for shopping and departing with friends and family. It offers more than 300 stores, wide variety of restaurants and ample spaces full of nature, plants and water fountains, and modern movie cinemas.
